Project catch up

Wow, it feels good. I finished the never ending poncho. I love it completed, however it was painful to accomplish. The never ending knitting in the round. Although mindless, it just was not satisfying. I have to say though, the poncho really falls nicely. It is suppose to be warmer here towards the end of the week, maybe I can wear it!

Well now onto the other projects I have yet to complete. I have begun my 2 socks on 2 circulars with the Queen Kahuna book. So far so good. I am using the Knitpicks Simple Stripes again, and it is really working up nicely. I look forward to seeing what happens with this gusset. Hopefully no holes!

I still have the evening bag to complete, not sure when that will happen. My oldest son wants a pair of socks, hubby wants a sweater and I am dying to make the cocoon shrug! I also am anxious to master this sock thing, the perfectionist that I am. I also have joined Project Spectrum. I have already completed March's pink with the BOO BOO's socks. I will try something else if have time. I have a skein of Lorna's Laces in red which I never used. What can I do with one skein?

Needless to say I am in the throws of school, and am definitely procrastinating the reading. Real Estate Principles and Laws are so dry, and I really never had any interest or intentions of being a lawyer. Every time I pick up the book I fall asleep. Is it that boring or am I that tired?

Wild Goose Chase

Feb 25(forgot to post)

Who said there was great wool in Mexico? There was one thing I was looking forward to on our trip, was finding some inexpensive wool. But none to be had! We went through cities and villages, and NONE! Great cottons for less money, but no wool. I was so disappointed.

The positive; our search for wool took us off the tourist routes and gave us an opportunity to meet some really nice people, eat some really good food, and see Northern Baja areas that we normally we would not see. All was not lost.

We are back.....but not caught up

Forgot to post, from March 3rd

Wow..... time had definitely gotten away from me. We got back from vacation at the beginning of the week, but have been crazed ever since.

First of all... I am please to announce that I am a gold medal recipient. I finished my socks, and another as well. I am addicted and my family loves hand knitted socks. I can not believe I have gone this long without. They are so comfortable! Pictures to come. We wore them and I am trying to get caught up with laundry...

My first pair were the Lava Socks from Sockbug, and the yarn was from Knitpicks, Simple stripes. They came out great, other than the connection between the heel flap and the gusset. There was a huge hole on both. Even the second one that I was conscience of. My daughters are the same general pattern in Knitpicks Dancing. This was a pure wool, and it shrank a little when I washed in cold water. From now on I will not use 100% wool, definitely superwash for me.

I ordered more sock wool from Knitpicks and a few skeins of Opal. I am very excited. Sock yarn seems to be a great item to have in my stash. I can always pick it up and make some in a couple of days. Especially for the little ones.

I just ordered Crazy Toes and Heels. I want to try the aloha cast on, 2 socks on 2 circs, and toe up. I will let you know how it goes.
